The New Tulsa World Sports Extra: For the latest scores, stories, photos and stats on OU, OSU an TU football, as well as the rest of college football.

Players of the game

Two seniors stood out in OSU's 45-14 collective-effort victory at Nebraska. Running back Dantrell Savage had a career-high 212 yards and punctuated OSU's offensive showing with a 30-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. Linebacker Donovan Woods had 12 tackles and a sack that forced a Sam Keller fumble in the second quarter.

Play of the game

Jeremy Nethon and Andre Sexton stopped Nebraska running back Quentin Castille for no gain on a fourth-down play at the OSU 10 early in the second quarter. OSU's offense responded with a 90-yard touchdown drive for a 24-0 lead. The rout was on.

Report card

Offense: A

The Cowboys finished with 551 total yards, with Savage rushing for a career-high 212. In a relatively quiet performance, wideout Adarius Bowman had 100 yards on six catches. Freshman tailback Kendall Hunter was productive, rushing for 67 yards on only 10 attempts. The offensive line had a strong afternoon, opening holes that resulted in 317 rushing yards. QB Zac Robinson was not sacked while completing 12-of-19 passes for 234 yards.

Defense: A

Nebraska's offense wasn't very good, but OSU deserves credit for a strong overall performance. In his three seasons of playing on defense, Cowboy linebacker Donovan Woods may have had his best game. He was credited with 12 tackles and forced a fumble by Husker QB Sam Keller. Linebacker Patrick Lavine had 13 tackles. Perrish Cox and Rod Johnson had interceptions. The Huskers had only 101 first-half yards. Nebraska punted four times and twice gave up the ball on downs.

Special teams: C

Once again, the return game was ineffective. Jason Ricks missed on a 24-yard field goal attempt. Protection broke down on one punt attempt, but Matt Fodge was lucky that his tipped kick bounced downfield for 45 yards.
