Fourteen of the Cowboys' games to air on national TV.

Travis Ford's first season as Oklahoma State's basketball coach will feature 14 nationally televised games, and the Ford era will begin against a team coached by an Eddie Sutton-era player.

Ford released the 2008-09 basketball schedule Wednesday and OSU will play a regular season opener Friday, Nov. 14 against Texas-San Antonio, coached by former Cowboy guard Brooks Thompson.

Marquee nonconference games include a Nov. 20 home game against CBI champion Tulsa (it's the first meeting between the schools since 1996), a Nov. 27 game against Gonzaga at the Old Spice Classic in the Orlando area, a Dec. 4 Big 12/Pac-10 Hardwood Series game against Washington in Seattle and a Dec. 20 All-College Classic game against Rhode Island in Oklahoma City.

The Cowboys will face other high-profile programs in the Old Spice Classic. They will face either Maryland or Michigan State in a second-round game. Georgetown, Siena, Tennessee and Wichita State are also in the field.

Ford, a former Kentucky player and ex-Massachusetts head coach, will make his unofficial debut as OSU's head coach when the Cowboys play Nov. 5 and Nov. 8 exhibition games against Rogers State and Langston, respectively.

OSU will then play four consecutive regular season home games (vs. UTSA, North Texas, Tulsa and Grambling State) before a string of five consecutive games away from Gallagher-Iba Arena. Other nonconference home games will be played against Mercer, Arkansas State, Northwestern State and Savannah State.

The Cowboys begin Big 12 play with a Jan. 10 home game against Texas A&M. Home conference highlights include a Jan. 26 game against Oklahoma and a Feb. 28 game against Texas. OSU plays a Feb. 7 road game against defending national champion Kansas and plays a March 7 regular season finale at OU.
