SEATTLE Dez Bryant was salivating over the possibilities. Zac Robinson loved the matchup his receiver had against a small Washington State defensive back.

When the Cowboys needed a big play to help finish off the Cougars, the wide receiver was in the middle of the action.

OSU threw Bryant's direction four times on a nine-play drive that culminated in a Robinson touchdown that helped put away the Cougars 39-13 at Qwest Field.

The sophomore receiver had three of his game-high seven receptions on the drive. Bryant's 6-foot-2 size and incredible leaping ability also forced Washington State cornerback Romeo Pellum, who is 5-foot-10, into a pass interference penalty at the goal line.

"It's confidence. Zac has a lot of confidence in me and he expects me to make that play," said Bryant, who had seven receptions for 90 yards. "I expect myself to make that play. That's how a lot of receivers feel. They're confident they will make that play."

Entering the season, Bryant was expected to be Robinson's go-to receiver. For the first three quarters, though, Washington State did a commendable job of containing the OSU standout.

Bryant only had four catches for 44 yards. But his position coach Trooper Taylor was encouraged that Bryant wasn't getting frustrated.

"Dez has to understand whether you get one ball or 50 balls, you have to do your part for those other 10 guys on offense," Taylor said. "He's maturing. Early in the game, he wanted to go deep every play. But he was able to understand and get his emotions in control. We're going to get him the ball, but we're not going to force-feed it."

After Washington State cut OSU's lead to 25-13 early in the fourth quarter, Robinson immediately went to Bryant to change the momentum. Robinson lobbed completions of 18, 9, and 19 yards to Bryant on the 61-yard scoring drive.

"That's all we look for. If they give us that matchup (against Bryant), we'll take that every time," Robinson said. "For some reason, they gave us that look and we took advantage of it."
