OSU Notebook

Lane, one more time:
Texas A&M senior Jorvorskie Lane has been an Oklahoma State nemesis.
As a freshman in 2005, he rushed for 139 yards and three touchdowns as the Aggies crushed OSU 62-23 at Kyle Field. That rushing-yardage total still stands as his career-best performance.
In 2006 at Stillwater, with 1:33 remaining in the fourth quarter, the Aggies trailed by seven points and faced fourth-and-13 from their own 32-yard line. Lane, who left the backfield to run a pass pattern in the middle of the field, got 17 yards on a one-handed catch of a Stephen McGee throw. The Aggies wound up taking the game to overtime and winning 34-33.
Last year, again on the Aggies' home field, Lane scored two touchdowns in a 24-23 Aggie triumph.
After having played at running back for three years, the 270-pound Lane moved to fullback this season. In Saturday's 6:05 p.m. Big 12 opener at Stillwater, the Aggies challenge 21st-ranked OSU.
"I thought (Lane) would have a Ph.D by now. He's been there forever," Cowboy coach Mike Gundy said. "He's obviously a guy that can make some plays."
Lane has a career total of 44 touchdowns. With one more TD, he will have tied former Aggie running backs Darren Lewis and Rodney Thomas for the school record.
The series:
In its series with OSU, Texas A&M holds a 17-6 lead. Since the 2003 Cowboys won 38-10 at College Station, Texas, the Aggies have beaten OSU in four consecutive meetings.
Versatile Goodson:
Texas A&M is the only Big 12 team led in rushing and receiving by the same player. That player is Mike Goodson, who committed to OSU in 2005 before deciding to sign with the Aggies.
A junior running back, Goodson has rushed for 220 yards while collecting 17 receptions. He is only 222 rushing yards shy of reaching 2,000 for his career. Goodson has become increasingly effective as a receiver out of the backfield. He has a career total of 70 receptions, and 35 have been in his last six games.
Tough time at QB:
Quarterback injuries are among a myriad of problems plaguing the Aggies, who are 2-2 but easily could have lost all four nonconference games.
Both McGee, in his fourth season as the starter, and backup Jerrod Johnson have shoulder injuries. Both are expected to be available for the OSU game, but neither is 100 percent.
McGee needs 46 yards of total offense to become only the second Aggie to reach 7,000 for his career. Former quarterback Reggie McNeal completed his A&M career with 8,876 total yards.
