Jeray Chatham: Senior defensive tackle started against A&M after missing most of the past three games.

All-around effort: All three units — offense, defense and special teams — recorded a touchdown in the first quarter for Oklahoma State on Saturday night against Texas A&M.

OSU scored touchdowns on an Ugo Chinasa interception return and a reception and punt return from Dez Bryant.

The last time the Cowboys achieved that was in a Nov. 16, 2002, victory at Kansas. OSU had touchdowns passing, on a fumble return and on a blocked punt return.

Dez does it again: Bryant's 78-yard punt return for a touchdown in the first quarter was his second of the season. Bryant had a 71-yard touchdown return against Houston.

The touchdown return against Texas A&M was the 11th longest in school history and the longest since R.W. McQuarters' 82-yard scoring return in 1997 against Northeast Louisiana.

Bryant's punt return score was OSU's second-longest scoring play this season behind Perrish Cox's 90-yard kickoff return TD against Washington State.

Pickens primer: OSU mega booster Boone Pickens had a crew from CBS News' "60 Minutes" program following him Saturday. The production crew spent Thursday and Friday with Pickens in Dallas and flew with him to Stillwater on Saturday.

"60 Minutes" correspondent Charlie Rose interviewed Pickens on the field 90 minutes before kickoff time Saturday night.

The interview is tentatively scheduled to air Oct. 26.

Injury report: OSU got one starter back Saturday night, but also
had one sit out another game.

Senior defensive tackle Jeray Chatham returned to the starting lineup after missing the better part of the last three games with a foot injury.

Senior tight end Brandon Pettigrew, though, missed his second consecutive game with a sprained ankle. Pettigrew suited up again this week but was held out of action. Redshirt freshman Wilson Youman started in place of Pettigrew.

Opening stop: OSU was stopped on consecutive running plays from the Texas A&M 1-yard line on its opening possession. Not only did the Aggies' stuffing of Zac Robinson's quarterback sneak attempt and running back Kendall Hunter's run keep OSU out of the end zone and points off the board, it also ended an impressive streak.

The Cowboys had scored on their opening drive in the first four games this season.

Big crowd: Saturday's announced attendance at Boone Pickens Stadium was 51,147. It marked the third time in school history OSU had consecutive home crowds of more than 50,000. Last week's home attendance against Troy was a record 52,463. The previous two times OSU had back-to-back 50,000-plus crowds in Stillwater came in 1979 and 1985.

Captains choice: OSU's captains for the game were punter Matt Fodge, quarterback Zac Robinson, safety Andre Sexton and cornerback Terrance Anderson.

Getting his exercise: It's an OSU tradition for a member of the school's ROTC unit to do pushups on a board held up by his fellow ROTC members matching the number of Cowboy points after each score.

There was a special guest to handle the pushups after Dez Bryant's fourth-quarter touchdown reception. OSU men's golf coach Mike McGraw did 49 pushups.

"(OSU athletic director) Mike Holder challenged me to this. But I didn't know how tough it was to do it on that board," McGraw said.
