Offense: C

It might seem an unfair grade for a unit that rolled for 56 points, but the Cowboys were uneven during most of the game. If Texas A&M had not committed five first-half turnovers, this might have been an extremely uncomfortable experience for OSU. The Cowboys entered with averages of 340.2 rushing yards and 562.5 total yards. Against an Aggie defense that ranked 115th nationally against the run, OSU ran for only 215 yards and managed only 401 total yards. Wide receiver Dez Bryant was outstanding (five catches, 106 yards, three TD receptions). OSU's 15-game streak of having at least one 100-yard rusher came to an end. Coach Mike Gundy said quarterback Zac Robinson ran more effectively (66 yards, two TDs) than in any previous game this season.

Defense: A-

Through the first 12 quarters of the season, OSU had forced only three turnovers. Through their last eight quarters, the Cowboys have gotten eight takeaways. Against A&M, end Ugo Chinasa and linebacker Patrick Lavine scored on interception returns. The Aggies committed five first-half turnovers (three fumbles, two interceptions). Cornerback Jacob Lacey and safety-linebacker Andre Sexton forced fumbles. Sexton had 12 tackles. OSU scored two defensive TDs for the first time since its 2001 victory at Baylor.

Special teams: A

Dez Bryant scored on a 78-yard punt return. Perrish Cox broke a 57-yard kickoff return that led to a Bryant touchdown catch. OSU's protection broke down and Matt Fodge had a punt that netted only 6 yards, but he also launched a 52-yard punt that was downed at the A&M 6-yard line. OSU averaged 30 yards on kickoff returns.
