The series: No. 8 Oklahoma State (6-0, 2-0 Big 12) hosts Baylor (3-3, 1-1) in Saturday's 2 p.m. nontelevised homecoming game at Boone Pickens Stadium. School officials expect OSU's third consecutive home crowd of at least 50,000.

The Cowboys and Bears have met on 26 occasions, with OSU owning a 14-12 series lead. Baylor is 5-8 in games played on OSU's home field, but has not won in Stillwater since 1939. Since the Big 12 was formed, OSU is 11-1 against Baylor.

When the teams last met in Stillwater, in 2006, the Cowboys prevailed 66-24.

Turnover turnaround: Through the first three games of the season, OSU opponents had committed only three turnovers. But in three games since — victories over Troy, Texas A&M and Missouri — the Cowboy defense has forced 11 turnovers.

For the season, OSU is plus-5 on turnovers. By the end of 13-game 2007 season, the Cowboys were minus-3 on turnovers.

Penalties: In penalty yardage, OSU is the Big 12's most penalized team (74.2 yards per game). Four conference teams — Missouri, Kansas State, Kansas and Colorado — average fewer than 45 penalty yards per game.

Six out of seven: Having already recorded the minimum number of victories necessary to achieve bowl eligibility, Oklahoma State is assured of making a bowl appearance for the sixth time in seven seasons.

Last year, OSU did not become bowl eligible until the 11th game of the season. In 2006, it happened in the 10th game.

The Baylor record: For the third time this season, Baylor faces a ranked opponent.

The Bears lost to then-No. 23 Wake Forest to open the season, and on Oct. 4 they lost to then-top-ranked Oklahoma.

Baylor's all-time record against ranked opponents is 41-154-6. Since upsetting 16th-ranked Texas A&M in 2004, the Bears are 0-14 against ranked teams.

The ground game: OSU and Baylor rank No. 1 and 2, respectively, in the Big 12 in rushing. The Cowboys average 293.8 yards per game, while the Bears average 206.2.

Among the league's top seven rushers, each team has two representatives. OSU's Kendall Hunter is No. 1 (143.7 yards per game) and Keith Toston is fifth (71.8).

Baylor running back Jay Finley is sixth (70.8) and freshman quarterback Robert Griffin is seventh (70.2).
