Scuffle at game’s end doesn’t turn into fight

AUSTIN — As the Oklahoma State and Texas teams massed at midfield, immediately after time had expired on a 28-24 Longhorn victory, a scuffle broke out involving several players.

OSU players reported later that Texas cornerback Ryan Palmer had aggressively approached Cowboy quarterback Zac Robinson.

“I was just making sure that nothing happens to our golden child (Robinson),” OSU safety-linebacker Andre Sexton said. “You’ve got to protect your quarterback.

It ended quickly.

Nothing big came out of it.”

Said Robinson: “The guy (Palmer) came up and was saying stuff to us. He didn’t really handle it with much class, I guess.”

Coaches and security personnel intervened before any actual fighting occurred.

“I was just trying to be a peacemaker to make sure nobody really cut loose,” OSU coach Mike Gundy said. “I’m too old to be involved with anything like that. I don’t have the energy.”

That's right he's too old for that! He's 40! But he IS a man! :)

Carlos, Very Funny !! Now he's 41... and maybe even more of a man. He should have another emotional press conference with that dazzling OSU day-glow orange backdrop.

You know what else is funny Tulsa guy? As soon as Tulsa's coach has any success, he'll get hired by a better program in a real conference. See tulsaGuy, you're what we call a 'practice school' for coaches....meanwhile, Gundy, emotional about his players, will continue to coach his alma mater as they hang around the top ten, playing signficant games on national television, challenging for national titles on any given year.
