Andrea Riley's wow factor was off the charts last season.

Not only did she set Oklahoma State's single-season scoring mark (807 points), the 5-foot-5 guard also established new levels for scoring average (23.1, tops in the Big 12), field goals made (268) and minutes played (1,216).

Oh, and then there was her 45-point effort in the Cowgirls' 82-63 win over in-state rival Oklahoma on Jan. 12.

Capping the whole season was a Sweet Sixteen appearance.

So, what can OSU fans expect in 2008-09?

"More of the same," said Cowgirls coach Kurt Budke, whose team finished 27-8.

Riley is taking the company line approach.

"There was so much support around me," said the Dallas native. "I never went out there thinking I had to score a certain number of points.

"My teammates and coaches pushed me last year and have continued to during the offseason. Our motivation is winning. We're sore losers."

With 1,191 points in two seasons, Riley is more than halfway toward the career scoring mark of 2,168 points set by Clinette Jordan (1985-89).

"That's nice," Riley said. "That's not something I think about."

Instead, Riley is trying to build on her leadership skills.

"I want to be a better leader," she said. "I think I'm getting better, but I also know I can improve on those skills."

Teammate Shyvon Spears said she has seen a new maturity in Riley.

"She listens more and takes advice from us like we do from her," said the senior forward.
