Momentum changer: For the second consecutive year, Oklahoma State tight end Brandon Pettigrew was involved in a play that changed the momentum of the game against Texas Tech.

Last season, it was the tight end's 54-yard go-ahead touchdown reception with 1:47 left in the Cowboys' 49-45 win.

This season, it was a fumble after a catch early in the third quarter that allowed the Red Raiders to pull away for a 56-20 triumph.

On OSU's opening possession of the second half, Pettigrew caught a pass from Zac Robinson near midfield. Pettigrew was fighting for additional yards when Texas Tech defensive back Daniel Charbonnet came from behind to knock the ball loose. Charbonnet's teammate Darcel McBath recovered the fumble. Nine plays later, Tech scored to increase its lead to 35-14.

"I think the ball was a little bit loose, but the guy came from behind and punched it out," OSU coach Mike Gundy said. "We've played fairly well this year coming out of the locker room and I thought we had a good series of plays going. Then we turned it over and they punched it in. From that point, we became one-dimensional on offense."

Pettigrew's place: Despite the fumble, Pettigrew finished with a team-high seven catches for 72 yards. Pettigrew is now eighth on OSU's all-time receptions list with 98. Dez Bryant is seventh with 107.

Pettigrew also is 11th in career receiving yards with 1,286.

Hunter moves up: With his 112 yards rushing at Texas Tech, sophomore running back Kendall Hunter moved past former teammate Dantrell Savage and Tatum Bell into 11th place on OSU's single-season rushing list. Hunter has 1,332 yards this season.

Hunter's two touchdowns Saturday gave him 13 this year, which ties David Thompson for sixth in single-season rushing scores.

Lubbock trouble: OSU is now 2-12-3 all-time in Lubbock. The Cowboys are winless in six trips to Texas Tech's campus since the inception of the Big 12 Conference in 1996.

Tech's 36-point winning margin is the largest between the teams since the Red Raiders posted a 58-0 home victory in 2000.
