STILLWATER — Andrew Lewis isn't exactly a stranger in a strange land. It may only seem that way.

The Oklahoma State junior offensive guard admits he is not playing his natural position. But he has started 24 consecutive games, 14 of which have come at guard.

Lewis and his teammates along the offensive line have not basked in the limelight like offensive standouts Zac Robinson, Dez Bryant, Kendall Hunter and Brandon Pettigrew. But the line has received praise all season. OSU coach Mike Gundy even went so far to say that the line had its best outing in last week's win.

Lewis hails from Joplin, Mo., and is the only player on the Cowboys roster from Missouri.

However, his parents moved to enemy territory last year. Lewis' father Steve is the city manager of Norman.

Offensive linemen are typically anonymous. Does the lack of attention or even lack of a nickname for the group bother you and your teammates?

We don't really care about a nickname. We've had a few ideas. Big Dave (center David Washington) came up with 'The Senate.' We make the decisions and try to rule like that. Some aren't suitable to be printed in the newspaper. But really all we care about is going out there and playing.

Last year, you played the last 10 games at center after Washington broke his leg. Now, do you feel back at home playing guard where you started the first three games of 2007?

Again, it really doesn't matter where I play. Center is where I played my whole football life. I've played guard for a year and half now. This year, I've probably gotten more used to playing guard. I have 14 games there, so it's feeling comfortable.

Your position coach Joe Wickline demands a lot from his offensive linemen. Do you have a good grasp on his expectations and ways he operates?

It's a learning process every day. He still surprises me with things he says and does. After four years here, I finally know what he expects from his players and the job he wants from you, and not just what you think you can do.

How tough is it for your dad living and working in Norman when his son is a starting offensive lineman at OSU?

Surprisingly, he says it's not that bad. He does get grief at work and people give him a hard time about it. But a lot of people do think it's cool that he has a son playing football here.

Will it feel weird driving into Norman next week for Thanksgiving at your parents' just 48 hours away from the Bedlam game?

It's Thanksgiving with my family. I don't look at it as going into enemy territory.
