Notable spectators: Eight NBA scouts and Oklahoma City Thunder general manager Sam Presti requested credentials or tickets to the Tulsa-OSU game. Also in attendance was former OSU coach Eddie Sutton.

Trifecta, almost: In OSU's second game this season, three Cowboys scored 20 or more points for the first time since 2001. It almost happened again. Byron Eaton had 26, one shy of a career-high. Ibrahima Thomas and James Anderson scored 18 each.

Glass cleaner: Obi Muonelo snagged a career-best 11 rebounds. OSU coach Travis Ford described Muonelo and Thomas as MVPs. The coach praised Muonelo for sacrificing scoring to rebound and said Thomas had to "run out there and ball screen every time." Said Ford, "He was getting tired of doing it."

Dry spell: The 12-year drought since the last TU-OSU game matched the longest in series history. The Cowboys and TU also went 12 years between games from 1961 to 1973.

Grand theft: Terrel Harris tied a series record for an OSU player by collecting four steals, all in the first half. He has 120 career steals, moving past Ronnie Daniel and Randy Rutherford into 19th place on the all-time Cowboy steals list.

Fast start: OSU led by as many as 28 points in the first half, forcing 16 turnovers before halftime.

"That's how we envision we want to play for 40 minutes," Ford said. "In order to be great and be the best team we can be, we've got to bottle that up for 40 minutes."
