Offense: D

The Cowboys had 199 total yards during the first period. During the next three quarters, they only had 270 yards. The OSU ground game sputtered all night. OSU, which averaged 256 rushing yards during the regular season, ran for only 119 against the Ducks (49 during the second half). Kendall Hunter netted 37 yards on 13 attempts. Dez Bryant (knee) and Zac Robinson (throwing shoulder) were affected by injuries. Bryant had with 13 catches for 167 yards, including a 33-yard TD.

Defense: D

Oregon had 565 total yards (7.8 per play) and rushed for 307 yards. On Oregon's first offensive play, the Cowboys were burned for 47 yards on a trick-play pass. Poor tackling allowed Oregon's Jeremiah Johnson to score on a 76-yard, first-period run and LeGarrette Blount to score on a 29-yard, fourth-quarter run that effectively buried the Cowboys. On Jeremiah Masoli's 41-yard, third-quarter TD run, OSU safety Quinton Moore missed on a clean attempt to make the tackle.

Special teams: C-

OSU led by 10 at halftime, but Oregon's Walter Thurmond III broke a 91-yard return on the opening kickoff of the second half. It led to the first of Jeremiah Masoli's three third-quarter rushing TDs. OSU's coverage breakdown changed the tone of the game. OSU's Perrish Cox popped a 42-yard kickoff return, giving the Cowboys a short-field possession that led to Kendall Hunter's 3-yard TD run. Cox also blocked a 37-yard field goal.
