Getting hot quick: Oklahoma State was on fire in every offensive category in first half of the team's 122-73 rout of Northwestern (La.) State on Saturday.

The Cowboys hit 66.7 percent from the field (20-of-30), 61.5 percent from 3-point range (8-of-13) and 85.7 percent from the free throw line (18-of-21).

"When you look at the margin (66-39), it was good," OSU coach Travis Ford said. "It wasn't a complete half. Offensively, it was one of our better halves."

Moving up: With six assists on Saturday, senior point guard Byron Eaton brought his career total to 428. He needs five to move into second place on the school's career assist list.

He is on pace to become the first player in school history to record 100 or more assists in each of his four seasons.

"His game can get lost in what everybody did tonight," Ford said, referring to four players with 20-plus points and five in double figures.

"He only played nine minutes in the first half (due to two fouls). But I'll take six assists to one turnover."

Steady ball handling: Oklahoma State suffered just two first half turnovers and seven for the game.

"Two turnovers in the first half is pretty good in this offense," said senior Terrel Harris.

Quick exit: Marshall Moses played just three minutes before fouling out with no points.

"Things like that can happen," Ford said. "I've seen it happen before, maybe not in three minutes. I hated it for him."

Getting
comfortable:
Oklahoma State seems to be gaining confidence with each victory as the Big 12 Conference schedule looms.

"The more we win, the more comfortable we are," Harris said. "A win is a win. The Big 12 will be tough."

Harris said he thinks the team's style of play will bring in more fans once league play begins.

"We're playing better, harder," he said. "I think fans respect that. This will bring them out."
