STILLWATER — Oklahoma State topped the century mark for the third time this season in a 122-73 romp over Northwestern (La.) State Saturday in front of 6,381 fans at Gallagher-Iba Arena.

The 122 points were the fifth-most scored by an OSU team and just seven shy of the all-time record of 129 scored on Jan. 2, 2007, against Southwestern State.

"Coach's (Travis Ford) swagger is rubbing off on us," said Terrel Harris, who scored 23 points and was one of five OSU players to score 20 or more points.

Cowboys sophomore James Anderson led all scorers with 27 points. Obi Muonelo recorded the only double-double for OSU with 22 points and 12 rebounds.

Pawnee freshman Keiton Page tied his career high of 21, hitting three 3-pointers, and Jenks' Nick Sidorakis came off the bench to score 11 points in eight minutes of action.

With the win, OSU (10-3) extends its winning streak to a season-best five games.

"I'm glad to be 10-3," Ford said. "I'll take that. The game got off to an interesting start. Both teams couldn't miss. We were challenged for the first eight minutes. It was interesting to see how we responded."

What they did was hit three scoring streaks to pull away to a 66-39 halftime advantage.

"We couldn't miss," Ford said. "We just didn't miss any shots, even late in the game."

Northwestern State's Michael McConathy, son of head coach Mike McConathy, was whistled for two intentional fouls, the second of which prompted a response that earned OSU's Malcoln Kirkland a technical. Ford and the Demons' coach exchanged words.

"I didn't know what was going on," Ford said. "There were some intentional fouls called here and there. That's the competitive spirt of the game. We are both very competitive guys. Those things are never good, but they happen in competitive athletics."

Muonelo offered his take on the situation.

"Coach Ford is a tough guy," Muonelo said. "He's not going to let anybody push us around. I think he felt like there were some blows that were a little uncalled for, and he talked to other coach about it."

Northwestern State was led by Damon Jones and Michael McConathy with 12 and 10 points, respectively.

"We were comfortable at 21-all with about nine minutes to go in the half, but we were playing their game," Mike McConathy said. "You can't play a team like this, that is high-octane, especially when they shoot like they did. We started out pretty well, but after we hit our first four (3-pointers) we go 2-for-15 the rest of the way. OSU pretty much rammed it down our throat."

The Demons outrebounded OSU 38-37, including 18 on offense.

"It's very disappointing to give up 18 offensive rebounds," Ford said. "We've known for a long time that was going to be an issue with this team. I thought we were competitive most of the night. They got several of those offensive rebounds late in the final minutes."

OSU committed just seven turnovers in the game, two in the first half.

"They had been turning people over," Ford said. "It was good that we handled the ball better tonight."

"Pawnee freshman Keiton Page tied his career high of 21, hitting three 3-pointers"

FYI, Keiton shot 5-9 from 3 point range.
