CLAREMORE -- A man has been jailed in connection with the alcohol-fueled shooting death of a 20-year-old Tulsa man early Saturday, police said.
Preston Adam Dohrer, 21, faces complaints of second-degree murder complaints and feloniously pointing a weapon, according to jail records. He is accused in the fatal shooting of Michael Duke, who died of a gunshot wound of the left forehead, according to a spokeswoman with the state Medical Examiner's Office.
Both men reportedly had been drinking before the shooting, which occurred about 1:40 a.m. Saturday at a residence in the 500 block of South Pine Street.
Dohrer is being held in the Rogers County jail in lieu of $250,000 bail, according to jail records.

legalize alcohol...these guys will continue to get drunk and shoot each other even if it was legal. This war on drinking has gone far enough. We need to legalize alcohol and tax it.
wait. I think I got confused there.

We need to treat killings (guns, autos, etc) by drunks as murder. The excuse "I was drunk and didn't know what I was doing" doesn't cut it. Any idiot knows alcohol makes people do stupid things, so they need to be ready to accept the consequences just like sober people have to do.

Mike was my friend. This was a tragic accident and the boy that is charged with the crimes was his "cousin". Please don't make comments on something you know nothing about. That kid was not drunk they had drank a couple of beers. Mike will be missed and hopefully the DA doesn't exasperate the tradgedy with another by trying this kid.

Number 1, I am Michael's aunt.
Number 2, You have no idea what you are talking about Ron B.
Number 3, It was a horrible accident, they were indeed blood cousins, and it was 2 shots of Vodka, not a couple beers, at 10:45 that night, the shooting was much later Sat Morning at 1:52.
Number 4, the family is standing together, we do not want Preston Dohrer prosecuted because it was an accident, they were best friends, and our families have been intertwined for the last 25 years because their mothers were best friends!!
Number 5, Michael would not have peace, he would not want his cousin jailed for this horrible accident.
This reporter isn't reporting the facts about that night. Which leaves the reader an ability to manipulate the story without these details.
Thank you, Michael's Aunt

ok well first of all alcohol is legalized and it is taxed. I find it rather amusing that you obviously dont realize that. Thank you Micheals Aunt. Shes right. This was a tragic ACCIDENT. Plain and simple. It sucks that Mikes gone now. And no parent should ever have to bury their son.Micheal always made the best out of life. He loved his family & friends and no he would not want his cousin to be in jail over this. No words can ever describe how his friends & family feel about all of this.Unfortunately the news never tells the truth and always tells a one sided story. But thats still no excuse for a reader to not gather all the information & make sure that it is correct before making a comment about it. I express my sincere condolences to his family.
Ally (Michaels Friend since middle school)
