Heat's Wade won't play in exhibition game at BOK Center

Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade will not play in tonight's exhibition game against the Oklahoma City Thunder at the BOK Center.

Wade is out with a rib cage injury and will be out for the game, which tips off at 7 p.m. Nick Collison will not play for Oklahoma City because of a right ankle sprain, Thunder coach Scott Brooks said.

Two Thunder players who are expected to see playing time include former University of Tulsa forward Michael Ruffin and former Tulsa 66er D.J. White.

Ruffin said he's excited to play in Tulsa for the first time in more than 10 years – but he wishes the preseason game didn't fall on the same night as the Golden Hurricane football team plays No. 5 Boise State.

"It'll be tough game, but it’s a great game for the University of Tulsa," Ruffin said. "To come out there and pull off upset would be great win for Tulsa."

White said it's good for Tulsa to get a taste of the NBA, and for players to see the other side of the state.

"It's always good for us to come down here, show our love for community and let them see us play," White said. "I know it’s a long drive to Oklahoma City, but we're right here tonight."
