Play of the game

Trailing Nebraska 16-0 early in the second quarter, Oklahoma State's offense had 70 yards on 17 snaps and two turnovers. Then quarterback Bobby Reid injected life into a listless attack. Reid broke a 56-yard run to the Huskers 21 that set up OSU's first touchdown and ignited the comeback victory.

Player of the game

Junior defensive end Nathan Peterson headlined OSU's much-maligned defense with four solo tackles and two quarterback sacks. The Union High School graduate punctuated his effort with a 19-yard fumble return for a touchdown with 3:16 left.

sh5 What went right

The Cowboys' never-give-up attitude was evident in rallying from the 16-0 deficit. The OSU offense was efficient both running (267 yards) and throwing (229 yards). The defense delivered the big stops when needed throughout the second half.

What went wrong

Slow starts on both sides of the ball resulted in Nebraska building the 16-0 lead. Jason Ricks had his first extra-point attempt blocked. Nebraska's Brandon Jackson carved OSU for 182 yards rushing, including 123 in the first 19 minutes.
