Sports Editor Mike Strain’s blog:
How far should OU fall in the top 25? Why did Boise State – Tulsa's next foe – drop one spot to No. 6 after a win? Look at his top vote this week in the AP poll.
The Oklahoma Sooners' moves up and down the college football rankings continued Sunday with a big fall.
Oklahoma dropped 11 places and is ranked No. 19 in the latest Associated Press football poll, which was released today.
The Sooners fell from a ranking of No. 8 after a 21-20 road loss to Miami, Fla., on Saturday night. Miami is ranked No. 11 this week.
Oklahoma is the only top 25 team with two losses.
It's the second time this season the Sooners (2-2) have fallen at least 10 positions in the rankings. OU was ranked No. 3 in the preseason but fell to No. 13 after a 14-13 loss to BYU in the season opener. The Sooners had climbed back to No. 8 -- and back into the early season national-title discussion -- after dominating wins over Tulsa and Idaho State.
OU plays Baylor at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Norman. The game will be televised by ABC (KTUL-8).
Oklahoma State (3-1), which was off Saturday, is ranked No. 15. The Cowboys play their first road game of the season this week, against Texas A&M at 11:30 a.m. Saturday.
The top three four teams remain the same in the Associated Press rankings -- Florida is No. 1, Texas is No. 2, Alabama is No. 3 and LSU is No. 4.
This week features two major showdowns in the SEC, which has six teams in the rankings this week -- Florida, Alabama, LSU, Auburn (No. 17), Mississippi (20) and South Carolina (25).
Florida is on the road at LSU, while Alabama travels to Mississippi. Both games are Saturday.

I said the same thing last night 007. He has a guaranteed salary+bonus+Nike+Athletic Assn. package. I think O.U. needs humbling events like this now and then. The deal is that Texas took a lot of notes and it could be a literal massacre this year. Stoops needs to look at changing up just about everything.

Don't ever try to tell me about east coast bias again. There is no way this team should be ranked.

smoky and edelweiss, why do they deserve to drop out of the polls? OU has lost to 2 ranked teams away from home. It's not like OU is at 9 or 10...they're at 19. All I know is that all the OSU people will shut up when they get whooped in November. At least OU had a tough non-conference schedule...OSU's toughest team was UGA who really isn't that good. And Houston just lost to UTEP...so how good was that loss?

Let's face it:OU dooesn't have the horses this year. But--it wouldn't stun me if they didn't whoop up on the Longhorns. Now, that UTEP win over Houston was a SHOCKER!!

Just pee poor coaching! Couldn't believe some of those plays? It was all a running game and Miami knew it and was ready for every play.
A climb up from #19 will be a tough road. Best of luck.

With the loss to the Longhorns these bums will be out of the news. I am sure that Sooner fans will have an excuse for that lose just like the rest of them.

At least the losses are to ranked teams on the road and each loss by one point. Granted, OU did not play its game and didn't deserve to win. The offense is just AWFUL, Landry played well.

See what happens when you quit paying players, give them cars and free gas!! You come down to the same level as the rest of the NCAA.

Still lovin the Sooners. They have a lot of football left. I won't desert them. But I will say they need to work on the penalties; so needless and in crucial areas.

It's hard to watch a team lose that you know is just 1 click away from having the potential of being another great OU team.
I knew there would be problems when Bradford and Gresshom were injured.

You can add Kansas, Nebraska and OSU to OU's loss list. 5-7.
