Tulsa picked up its ninth verbal commitment as Warren, Ark., linebacker Eldon Thompson says he will play football for TU.

Thompson, a 6-foot-3, 235-pounder, told the coaches Thursday. He is ranked the No. 13 inside linebacker nationally by Rivals.com.

Thompson had 136 tackles, four sacks and two fumble recoveries last year. He has registered a 4.6-second 40-yard dash.

Well, I like the vibe of knowing Eldon will be knocking a few Houston and Southern Mississippi helmets off for the Golden Hurricane.

Another great job recruiting by the Tulsa staff. These are the type of recruits that level the playing field with BCS opponents. You really have to wonder what type of powerhouse TU could become over the next few years if they continue to rake in smart, talented athletes that can compete in the classroom and field of play.

Shadow.....other than being recruited by Gus, which, as a LB would be VERY unlikely, why would a defensive player follow Gus to Auburn when he runs the offense?
