Basketball

Thunder exercises options on four players: The Oklahoma City Thunder waived forward Mike Harris and exercised options on forwards Kevin Durant, Jeff Green and D.J. White, and guard Russell Westbrook. Durant and Green were selected during the 2007 NBA draft. Durant was picked second overall, while Green was acquired via a draft-day trade. Westbrook and White joined the Thunder through the 2008 NBA draft. Westbrook was selected fourth overall, and White was acquired in a draft-day trade.

Colleges set scrimmages: Skiatook's Dr. Gary Johnson Activity Center will be the site for three scrimmages on Saturday. Oklahoma Wesleyan will face Northeastern A&M at 10 a.m., followed by Hutchinson (Kan.) against NEO at noon and Oklahoma Wesleyan against Hutchinson at 2 p.m. Admission is $3.

Soccer

Cowgirls cruise in Bedlam match: Oklahoma State continued its dominance in the Bedlam series Friday night as the Cowgirls knocked off rival Oklahoma, 3-0, in front of 1,297 fans at the Cowgirl Soccer Complex. With the win, OSU vaulted from eighth to fifth in the Big 12 standings.

Annika Niemeier, Krista Lopez and Alison Farrell scored for the Cowgirls, while Kyndall Treadwell had two assists.

NSU men win: Northeastern State's Sam Vernalls scored two goals to lift the RiverHawk men's team (7-6) to a 2-1 victory over Texas A&M-International (5-7-2) in a men's soccer match on Friday. Vernalls scored goals at 42:45 of the first half to tie the match at 1-1, and his winning goal came at 56:05 of the second half.

NSU women downed: Texas Woman's University scored two second-half goals to defeat Northeastern State 2-0. NSU falls to 5-8-1 and 1-5-1 in the Lone Star Conference. Northeastern State goalkeepers P.J. Davis and Aubree Gallego had four saves in the match.

RSU men win thriller: Rogers State Junior Carlos Zuta scored the game-winner on a pass from Vitor Mantovani with just 63 seconds remaining in regulation to beat Oklahoma Christian 2-1. The win pulled the Cats even with OC in the conference standings

RSU women edge Oklahoma Christian: Rogers State pulled out an important conference win with two late goals to edge Oklahoma Christian, 2-1.

ORU women soar: Maria Grados scored a pair of goals and Oral Roberts University tied a season-high for goals in a game in a 4-1 win over Summit League leader IUPUI, Friday at ORU Soccer Complex.

Hurricane women blank Southern Miss: The Tulsa women's soccer team dominated Southern Miss, 4-0, at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium. The Golden Hurricane moved to 7-8-2 on the season and 4-5 in Conference USA, while the Golden Eagles fell to 4-11 overall and 0-9 in the league.

Tennis

Sooners fare well: Host Oklahoma advanced four players across all three brackets Friday at the Wilson/ITA Central Region Women's Championships in Norman. The Sooners went 7-1.

State men's teams compete: Tulsa's Philip Stephens and Ashley Watling won two doubles matches to advance to the Wilson/ITA Central Region Men's Championships quarterfinals on Friday at the Case Tennis Center.

Stephens and Watling, the tournament's No. 3 seed, dominated Oklahoma's Ryan Proctor and Chris Fotopoulous, 8-3, in the first round of doubles, and then battled Matt Hogan and Matt Walters of Arkansas to a 9-8 (7) win in the second round. The duo will face Oklahoma State's Anton Bobytskyi and Eric West in the quarterfinals on Saturday.

The Cowboys advanced four of five athletes in the main draw singles bracket and both teams in main draw doubles play.
