Basketball

Coale honored by alma mater: Oklahoma women's basketball coach Sherri Coale will be honored as distinguished alumna Friday at the Oklahoma Christian homecoming banquet. Coale played women's basketball for four seasons at OC, captaining the three-time conference champions and twice earning Academic All-America honors.

Gannon edges NSU women:

Northeastern State's upset bid of No.21 Gannon University at the Disney East Coast Classic fell short. NSU lost to the Knights 67-66 at the Milk House. NSU missed a shot with 1.5 seconds left.

Hockey

Oilers' Hisey is CHL player of month:

Tulsa's Rob Hisey has been named CHL player of the month for October and Player of the Week for week ending Nov. 1.

Soccer

Cowgirls in Big 12 finals:

Fifth-seeded Oklahoma State knocked off top-seeded Missouri 3-2 to advance to the finals of the Big 12 Soccer Championship. The win was the seventh in a row for OSU. Siera Strawser scored two goals and Annika Niemeier recorded the game winner.

NSU men rout Eastern New Mexico:

The Northeastern State men struck for four goals in the second half to score a 5-0 Lone Star Conference win over Eastern New Mexico. It was the RiverHawks' (9-9-0, 1-4-0) first LSC win.

RSU men squeak by:

Rogers State's Carlos Zuta broke a scoreless tie with a game-winning goal in the 84th minute to lift RSU past Oklahoma Christian. The Hillcats advance to the SAC Tournament
semifinals next week.

Volleyball

ORU players honored:

Oral Roberts standouts Natalya Manyan and Lauren Parks were named to the Summit League's all-conference teams in voting by coaches. Manyan earned first-team honors for the third straight year. Parks was named to the All-Newcomer squad.

TU wins:

Four players hit double-digit kills, led by Tyler Henderson's 25, as Tulsa scored a 3-1 win (25-23, 23-25, 25-21, 25-18) over C-USA foe UCF.

Tennis

TU, OSU players fall:

Tulsa senior Andrei Daescu lost to Wisconsin's Marek Michalicka in the round of 16 at the 2009 ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships, hosted by Yale University. Daescu dropped the match in two sets to the nation's No. 34 player. OSU's Oleksandr Nedovyesov won his first match to reach the quarters but was beaten by Virginia's Michael Shabaz.

Oklahoma duo Ana-Maria Constantinescu and Teona Tsertsvadze fell in the doubles quarterfinals.

Bull Riding

Lostroh shines at PBR:

World standings leader Kody Lostroh won the fifth round of the Professional Bull Riders World Finals on Friday night, scoring 91.25 points on Troubadour for his second straight round victory. Thursday's winner, Lostroh was given the first pick in the stock draft for Friday. He selected Troubadour, then improved to 4-for-4 on the bull in his career.
