Judge blocks UND from changing nickname: A judge has temporarily blocked officials from changing North Dakota's Fighting Sioux nickname. The president of North Dakota's Board of Higher Education, Richie Smith, said the order could delay the university's efforts to join the Summit League and re-establish its rivalry with North Dakota State. Smith says he'll talk with the state attorney general about challenging the order.

Combined with their $100,000 purse from the opening nine, the women claimed the overall title.

The Champions Tour team of Jay Haas, Nick Price and Fred Funk — which led with a 9 under on the front nine — finished second, $70,000 behind the LPGA. The PGA Tour team of Stewart Cink, Fred Couples and Bubba Watson was third with $270,000.

McIlroy says he'll join US tour: Rory McIlroy has decided to join the PGA Tour next year with hopes of moving up in the world ranking. The 20-year-old from Northern Ireland said competing against stronger fields in the United States should make him a better golfer. He already is No. 17 in the world.
