Underdog Sooners aim to storm Texas
Oklahoma's Sam Bradford scrambles against Baylor during their football game. MIKE SIMONS / Tulsa World

Oklahoma is a three-point underdog this week against No. 3 Texas. If the Sooners pull off the win, they might spend years lamenting a golden opportunity that slipped through their fingers last week at Miami.
After opening Big 12 Conference play on Saturday with a 33-7 victory over Baylor, OU dropped a spot to 20th in the Associated Press Top 25, but climbed three spots in the USA Today coaches poll and two spots in the Harris Interactive poll, where the Sooners rank 18th in both BCS components.
Had Oklahoma survived the Miami challenge, beating the Longhorns might have set things up for another OU push toward a national championship.
Instead, with Sam Bradford back at quarterback, they'll continue pursuit of their fourth consecutive Big 12 crown.
OU (3-2) and Texas (5-0) meet at 11 a.m. at Cotton Bowl Stadium in Dallas in a game televised by KTUL channel 8.

Texas is still mad about last year. The Sooners better be ready to play the most physical they can. The biggest concern for me is coach W on off. and coach V on def. they are going to have to call better games than they have been. Good luck and I hope my Sooners Win!!!

Who cares if Texas is mad about last year. They should have taken care of business. Our kids have a chip on their shoulder as well. Many believe we were the better team last year anyway.....just not on that particular day from midway through the 3rd quarter on. Texas hasn't looked that impressive so far this year. Mostly because they haven't played anyone, but then again, Toledo beat up on Colorado worse than Texas did.

OU all the way, the players just need to execute and play mistake free football and OU should win with their defense.. but it is going to take a GREAT EFFORT.. the WR's MUST hold on to the ball... and it will be victory for the SOONERS!!

I knew it. When the Sooners beat top ranked Baylor with Bradford all would be well in soonernation. Now to think we can compete next week in the Cotton Bowl?? LMAO

After the Sooners lose Saturday, they should just pack up and head south on I-45 and camp out at Reliant until the Houston Bowl.

Hold it!! Hold it!! Who says we are out of the National run again. If we win out and the big 12, we can be there again. Look at who we have to play and look at their ratings. Granted, it won't be easy but don't think for one minute we can't get another shot at the big game again. It could very well be the SEC and the Big 12 again with the Sooners.
The fat lady may not be feeling to good but she aint sung yet.
Go Sooners!!!

This is aimed at picker. All this stuff about Stoops and his loyality to his assistants reminds me of when the defence coaches learned to handle the wishbone and everyone wanted Berry's scalp. Well we got rid of Berry and replaced him with that outstanding coach from Florida. What was his name Howard Smell-a-burger? Yes sir we need to replace Bob with another Smell-a-burger.
We never learn, do we?????

I always root for the Sooners when they play Texas. I hate the Longhorns! Unfortunately, I don't think the have a chance unless Chad Bradford can also play the offensive and defensive line in addition to quarterbacking. I hope I'm wrong this time.

In defence of Berry, he might have kept his job if he'd had Chad Bradford to help out. (Are these people for real?)

Replace Bob???? Get real. Does the last 10 years mean anything? Injuries have hurt us big time. I think Bob is great and doing as well as possible. Would you rather have cry baby Mac Brown.
