OSU's Hunter shows improvement in warmups before Texas game

STILLWATER — If the pregame warmups before Saturday's Oklahoma State-Texas game are any indication, Cowboy running back Kendall Hunter looks to be improved from his ankle-foot injury.

Hunter, last year's Big 12 leading rusher, is moving with twice the energy than he displayed in the pregame against Baylor and is showing no limp. He has missed five straight games after being injured against in the Houston loss .

When teammate Deron Fontenot came onto the field for the warmups, Hunter and Fontenot ran at each other and jumped several feet in the air.

Running back Keith Toston is still expected to start against the third-ranked Longhorns, but Hunter is expected to contribute after being cleared to play last week. He suited up against Baylor but did not play.

I'm with you...that would let some air out of those Longhorns...wouldn't it? You never know any team can beat any team at any given time under the right circumstances. We'll see.
