TU: 3 storylines
A look at three key things to watch in today's Houston-Tulsa contest.

Make a statement on offense

Tulsa must dictate things from the offensive side of the football. Pace will be important. A fast-break game against Houston's offense may not work. The Hurricane must slow things down, gain yardage on first down and, most importantly, run the football. Houston allows 223 rushing yards per game, which ranks 115 out of 120 teams nationally.

Man up

The Hurricane defense will face a methodical passing offense that sets up the big play. Quarterback Case Keenum makes things work, and is a coach on the field. TU must get career performances from its secondary and find ways to get pressure on Keenum, who has a great pocket presence and a quick release.

Forget the past

Many have been grumbling about how poor Tulsa has been playing lately. It's important for the players to wipe the past three performances from their heads and concentrate on Houston. If it means remembering the 70-30 pasting it received from the Cougars last year, so be it. Winning cures a lot of ills, and this one could straighten things out. But it won't be easy.
