OU linebacker cited for public urination
OU FOOTBALL

Oklahoma linebacker Austin Box, a redshirt freshman from Enid, received a citation from the Norman Police Department early Saturday morning for outraging public decency.

He was seen by Norman police urinating in public outside a Norman restaurant at around 1:55 a.m. Saturday. According to the police report, Box was allowed to sign the citation and was released.

Box played in 10 games last season and made 36 tackles. The former high school All-American was moved from outside linebacker to the middle following Ryan Reynolds' midseason knee injury, and made five starts before a knee injury of his own. Box will miss spring practice, which starts Tuesday, while recovering from elbow surgery.

The ticket happy cops may have urinated when no one was looking, but they didn't have their own selves to write down tickets at the time. I wonder if they get you for spitting on the sidewalk in Norman? I can see it happening.

I heard that they will have to drop the charges due to lack of evidence. ;o)

Thanks to this guy for breaking up the usual OU football chatter with his behavior. Now we need some burglaries, armed robberies, rapes like the good old days.

I'm as big of a Sooner fan as anybody, but why didn't he just go back in the restaurant? Just go back in and this whole situation wouldn't be talked about.

Come on dude can't you do that inside the restaurant?!?

Doesn't matter if he goes in the restroom or not. He's a Sooner, so even if he gets to the bowl, he'll inevitably p*ss it away.

He should feel blessed if he doesn't have to register as a sex offender. Some folks don't want to see his "lil'Box"...or your little one, either.

"Come on you never took a whizz outside"

If I had, I wouldn't be moronic enough to brag about it on a public forum!! It's illegal, if you haven't figured that out yet!

My Eagle Scout training says it is not illegal everywhere. And , Jett, you know you have done it!

Just because you've done it, doesn't make it legal! An Eagle Scout surely knows that much....

So … a guy takes a whiz outdoors at about closing time and is arrested for "outraging public decency"

It sounds to me like Norman has an unrealistically elevated sense of its "decency"

jhill,

you might want to check out the laws in Tulsa before you whip it out where other folks might see it....

You gotta be kidding me! A ticket for taking a leak outside?? What...were the donut shops closed or no jaywalkers to accost?? And you idiots commenting that "it's illegal"...get a life.

"And you idiots commenting that "it's illegal"...get a life."

Why would it make someone an idiot to inform those who don't already know, and there are plenty commenting here who don't, that if convicted of urinating in public, you can be compelled to register as a sex offender? It's the law. I didn't write it...

As for getting "a life": golf has to be about the most boring waste of life ever devised. Those who golf only imagine they enjoy it because they are often drunk by the third hole, if not before.
