The family of injured University of Oklahoma football player Corey Wilson on Wednesday declined interview requests and further updates on Wilson's condition.

Wilson, a redshirt freshman from Carrollton, Texas, was critically injured last Friday in a two-car wreck on I-35 on his way home from Norman. As his sport utility vehicle rolled, Wilson was ejected some 45 feet into the median.

He sustained multiple injuries, including spinal cord damage. OU players received an e-mail from the coaching staff on Sunday saying that Wilson was paralyzed from the waist down.

"We feel like we have to play for him now," wideout Dejuan Miller told the Oklahoman on Tuesday following the team's first of 15 spring practices. "He's going through a life-changing situation. We're really pushing for him. I'm praying for him every day.

"I just hope one day he can defeat the odds and walk again."— JOHN E. HOOVER, WORLD SPORTS WRITER
