Transfers settling in at Tulsa
Haralson and Magley will serve as Hurricane's future foundation.
NEW ARRIVALS FOR TU HOOPS
Scottie Haralson
and D.J. Magley: The pair are recent transfers to the Tulsa basketball program. Both will be ineligible for the 2009-10 season.

Scottie Haralson and D.J. Magley are proud of their new address.
The Tulsa basketball transfers reached campus on Sunday, and are settling into the Golden Hurricane scene.
"It's been a great experience so far," said Haralson, a transfer from Connecticut's Final Four program last season. "The team has welcomed me with open arms, the campus is beautiful and the teachers have been great."
Haralson and Magley are ineligible in 2009-10, but likely will be a strong cornerstone in years to come thanks to Division I and NCAA Tournament experience.
"Both guys, under different circumstances, have found a new home for themselves," TU coach Doug Wojcik said. "I'm proud of them as individuals, of their parents and their support, and the way the team has accepted them."
Haralson went through pickup basketball with his new teammates on Wednesday night, while Magley sat out because of some minor issue related to his transfer.
Haralson saw limited time at UConn, and was guided to Tulsa by Huskies assistant coach George Blaney.
"I left on good terms," said Haralson, a 6-4, 220-pound guard who will have three years of eligibility remaining. "I talked to one of the (UConn) assistants today. He asked how I was doing. I have no hard feelings toward them."
Haralson, Mississippi's high school player of the year in 2007-08, is from Jackson. Saying he didn't want to "get cooped up at home," he didn't consider nearby Southern Miss.
Instead, Haralson will play in Conference USA, which has a geographical footprint that surrounds his home town.
"My parents won't have to travel so far to watch me play," he said. "Some people (in Jackson) have given me my best support, and I'm looking forward to playing in front of those people."
Magley (6-9, 255-pound forward) will have two seasons of eligibility left. He left Western Kentucky after a coaching change saw his minutes dwindle in his sophomore campaign.
Taking a mandatory season off can be a challenge for many Division I transfers, but Magley is tackling it with a healthy attitude.
"I'm not putting much pressure on myself," he said. "I'm not playing for a whole year, but want to get better all the time. I also want to help the team out. I want to bring some noise. They're very vocal and I'll help out with that and encourage them."
