The New Tulsa World Sports Extra: For the latest scores, stories, photos and stats on OU, OSU an TU football, as well as the rest of college football.

STILLWATER -- Roger Staubach, a Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback at the Naval Academy and a two-time Super Bowl champion with the Dallas Cowboys, attended Saturday's Texas-Tech-Oklahoma State game.

The 65-year-old Staubach was a guest of OSU benefactor Boone Pickens.

"I've known Mr. Pickens a long time, and I know how generous he is. I just wish he had gone to the Naval Academy," Staubach quipped. "He is possessed about how much he believes in (OSU)."

Referring to the Pickens donations resulting in the stadium renovation and the Athletic Village project, Staubach said, "I think it's just fantastic. It will pay off."

In 1977 (two years before his retirement from the Dallas Cowboys), Staubach founded a Dallas-based real estate company that has become extremely successful. Staubach and Troy Aikman co-own a NASCAR Nextel Cup team.

Staubach was the chairman of the North Texas Super Bowl XLV Bid Committee. On May 23, the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex was awarded the 2011 Super Bowl. It will be played in the Cowboys' $1 billion stadium, being built in Arlington.
