The New Tulsa World Sports Extra: For the latest scores, stories, photos and stats on OU, OSU an TU football, as well as the rest of college football.

On three occasions -- in 1984, 1988 and 2003 -- Oklahoma State was viewed as having a strong chance of winning on Nebraska's home field:

Oct. 6, 1984

Nebraska 17, OSU 3

The Cowboys were unbeaten (4-0) and ranked No. 9 nationally. Nebraska was No. 8 and had a 21-game win streak in Big Eight games. OSU held the Huskers scoreless through three quarters, but Nebraska scored 17 points during the final 13 minutes. The loss was Pat Jones' first as the OSU head coach.

Oct. 15, 1988

Nebraska 63, OSU 42

Only seven plays into the second quarter, the seventh-ranked Huskers had a lead of 42-0. From that point, as Barry Sanders rushed for 189 yards, 10th-ranked OSU outscored Nebraska 42-21. It was the greatest combined point total of any game ever played at Memorial Stadium.

Aug. 30, 2003

Nebraska 17, OSU 7

OSU was ranked 24th. Nebraska was unranked. The OSU offense was expected to be prolific. It wasn't. Cowboy QB Josh Fields threw three interceptions and lost a fumble. Rashaun Woods managed only 47 receiving yards. OSU had only 183 total yards.
