Penalty problems: It has been a common occurrence the past few weeks, and it's starting to become a concern for the Oklahoma State team.

Penalties have been more prevalent in the past three games. OSU has committed 35 penalties in that span after having only 13 the first two games.

OSU coach Mike Gundy understands penalties do occur. He is more concerned with dumb penalties such as late hits after a play's conclusion, which his team has been guilty of a few times this year.

"We certainly do not want 15-yard penalties," Gundy said. "But if we're playing hard and blocking down field and we're chasing the ball and giving great effort and trying to play football and you happen to get there a little late and hit a guy, I don't like that. But I can live with it. But if you get a dumb penalty, then we have issues with that."

The penalty concerns are more in focus for this week's game at Missouri. The Tigers are the least penalized team in the Big 12 Conference.

Price's big day: The last time OSU played Missouri (Oct. 8, 2005 in Stillwater) was one of Ricky Price's best performances in his two-year stay at wide receiver.

Now the Cowboys' senior starting strong safety, Price caught three passes for 63 yards as a starting wideout in the 38-31 loss to the Tigers three years ago.

But to this day, Price is still annoyed that his final statistics for that game were not three catches for 64 yards.

A replay review took away an apparent Price touchdown after the referee's video review concluded that he had stepped out of bounds just short of the goal line. Price still has not scored a touchdown at OSU.

"That was painful and it still hurts," Price said about the negated touchdown. "To this day, I don't believe that I stepped out on the 18-inch line. There is no 18-inch line. I don't believe in the 18-inch line. You can't tell on video that I stepped out on the 18-inch line."

Bring him down: One of the goals OSU's defense has for every game is to limit opposing pass catchers to 65 yards or less after they make the reception. Missouri's offense will put that challenge to the test.

The Tigers feast on taking short throws and turning them into long-yardage gains on a regular basis.

"They love the big play," OSU defensive coordinator Tim Beckman said. "They are a big chunk play offense."

Road rally: OSU fans attending the game at Faurot Field on Saturday night can greet the Cowboys team as it arrives at the stadium. The "Road Rally" will take place at the southeast corner outside Faurot Field at 4:30 p.m.
