Pettigrew returns: One month of inactivity was too much for senior tight end Brandon Pettigrew to take.

After missing the past three games with a sprained ankle, Pettigrew returned to the starting lineup in Saturday's 34-6 victory over Baylor.

Coach Mike Gundy joked after the game that Pettigrew was starting to sound like his wife because last year's All-Big 12 performer desperately wanted to return to competition.

"I have been on him bad the past few games to let me get back in there," Pettigrew said. "He told me to lay off until I got healthy enough to play. So I had to do that."

Pettigrew caught one pass for 22 yards against the Bears.

Must-see TV: With the afternoon kickoff against Baylor, many of the OSU players planned to spend Saturday night watching the Texas-Missouri game. The Cowboys play at No. 1 Texas Saturday.

"I'm going to watch all of it," defensive end Derek Burton said. "When I watch games on TV, I'm just watching the game in general."

Big block: Though it will not officially count on his statistics, Burton provided an early shot of momentum with a block of Baylor kicker Ben Parks' extra point after the Bears' first-quarter touchdown.

The NCAA does not recognize blocked extra points as statistics.

"I got it right on my hands," Burton said. "I dove right in and caught it right on my hand."

Already this season, OSU had recorded two blocked kicks. Freshman Markelle Martin blocked a punt in the season opener against Washington State, and linebacker Orie Lemon blocked a field goal at Missouri.

Big crowd: Saturday's homecoming game drew a crowd of 50,080. It marks the first time in school history where the Cowboys had three straight home attendance figures of more than 50,000.

OSU had a school-record home crowd of 52,463 for the Sept. 27 victory against Troy, and 51,147 for the Oct. 4 victory over Texas A&M.

Griffin record: Baylor QB Robert Griffin set the NCAA Division I record for most consecutive pass attempts without an interception to start a career by a freshman. Griffin now has 155 attempts without an interception.

The previous record was 138 by Gundy in 1986.

"If you're going to lose it, that's a good guy to lose it to," Gundy said.
