OSU: Know The Foe

Looking back: The Cyclones (2-6, 0-4 Big 12) dropped their sixth consecutive game after falling 49-35 at home to Texas A&M on Saturday night. Despite gaining a season-high 574 yards, Iowa State surrendered 509 yards to the Aggies.

About the offense: Sophomore quarterback Austen Arnaud had his best statistical performance of his career with 371 yards passing in the A&M loss. Iowa State ran for 173 yards, which is roughly 40 yards more than it averages per game.

About the defense: Opposing quarterbacks have feasted on the Cyclones the past three weeks. Baylor's Robert Griffin, Nebraska's Joe Ganz and A&M's Jerrod Johnson have combined to complete 79 percent of their passes on ISU. Think Zac Robinson, Dez Bryant and company are salivating about their prospects this week?

About the special teams: Kicker Grant Mahoney is 12-of-19 on field goals, but has missed three of his last five attempts. Mike Brandtner is an adequate punter with a 41.8-yard average. Leonard Johnson is the main kickoff returner with a 25.5-yard average.
