Game notes: The Cowgirls open the exhibition season for the third straight year with East Central tonight and Oklahoma Flyers on Saturday. OSU has won all six of its exhibition games under head coach Kurt Budke, including a pair of blowouts over East Central, 101-33 on Nov. 6, 2007, and 83-35 on Nov. 6, 2006. OSU is led by Big 12 preseason first-team selection Andrea Riley, who led the league in scoring last year at 23.1 points per game. Other returning starters include Taylor Hardeman, a solid outside shooter who should take some of the heat off Riley, and Shaunte' Smith, the Cowgirls top returning rebounder at 9.0 per game. Megan Byford and Shyvon Spears join the starting rotation after coming off the bench a year ago. Newcomers Kelsey Hatcher and Tegan Cunningham are expected to see a lot of playing time this season.
