tulsaworld.com/spListen to Mike Gundy discuss injuries to Brandon Pettigrew and Kendall Hunter during Monday’s Big 12 teleconference.ortsextra

Still waiting: The starting time for the Nov. 29 Bedlam game will not be known at least until after the OU-Texas Tech game.

KTUL, channel 8, will televise the contest. The kickoff time either will be either 2:30 or 7 p.m.

Hunter update: OSU coach Mike Gundy did not reveal any concrete information about running back Kendall Hunter's injury. Gundy said during Monday's Big 12 coaches teleconference that Hunter had a quad contusion. On Sunday, the OSU coach said Hunter did not suffer a quad contusion.

After practice Monday, Gundy said he did not know the extent of Hunter's ailment and did not address whether the running back will be ready for the OU game.

"We never talk about (injuries). We should have some new information in a few days," Gundy said. "I'm not going to go into any detail about any of that. That's how I'm going to handle it."

According to a source, Hunter was suited up for Monday's practice and should be ready for Bedlam.

Pettigrew up for honor: Brandon Pettigrew is among eight semifinalists for the John Mackey Award, given to the top collegiate tight end.

The Mackey recipient will be announced during ESPN's Dec. 11 Home Depot ESPNU College Football Awards Show. In spite of having missed three games because of a sprained ankle, Pettigrew is OSU's second-leading receiver with 35 catches for 383 yards.

New recruit: OSU received its 10th verbal commitment Monday from Katy (Texas) Morton Ranch High School safety Joe Mitchell.

"Oklahoma State sent me an offer in the mail, and today I gave them a solid verbal commitment," Mitchell told GoPokes.com. "This weekend I had a real long talk with my dad and then I met some people that had gone to Oklahoma State, and they told me that they loved it, that the campus was great, and they have a really good engineering school. They also have a good football tradition, and they are having a great season. I plan on leaving with a diploma in hand."

Mitchell will graduate high school next month and enroll at OSU in January. The 6-foot-3 1/2, 200-pound Mitchell will go through spring practice. Mitchell also was recruited by Baylor, Texas A&M, Missouri, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Florida and Utah.
