Bryant named award finalist: Oklahoma State sophomore wide receiver Dez Bryant is one of 10 finalists for the Biletnikoff Award presented to the nation's top receiver.

Through 11 games this year, Bryant leads the Big 12 and ranks second nationally in receiving yards per game with 111.1 per game. His 9.8 points scored per game rank him eighth nationally.

Bryant is having one of the finest seasons ever for an OSU wide receiver. He ranks in the top five on the Cowboy single-season lists for receptions (fifth; 68), receiving yards (fourth; 1,222), touchdown receptions (second; 16) and scoring (third; 108 points).

The sophomore has five 100-yard receiving games this year. On two occasions, Bryant has surpassed the 200-yard receiving mark. He had a nine-catch, 236-yard, three-touchdown game against Houston and an 11-catch, 212-yard, two touchdown game against Baylor.

Bryant also leads the conference and ranks fourth nationally with 17.9 yards per punt return and is in the top five in the explosive Big 12 with 146.4 all-purpose yards per game.

The award will be presented Dec. 11 as part of the Home Depot College Football Awards Show in Orlando.

He is one of six players from the Big 12 included in the final group of 10 for the Biletnikoff Award joining Missouri's Jeremy Maclin and Chase Coffman, Texas Tech's Michael Crabtree, Kansas' Kerry Meier and Texas' Quan Cosby.

The practice plan: With no game this week, the Cowboys have altered their plans.

Normally, the team takes off Sundays. But they went through a conditioning running session Sunday night. On Monday, they had a light 90-minute practice. The Cowboys had a fully padded practice Tuesday afternoon and will have a full practice Wednesday in helmets, shorts, and shoulder pads.

Starting Thursday, the players will get four days off from football before resuming preparations for Oklahoma next Monday.

"It's a good time for everyone to catch their breath. The players need some time off. We've been at it for eight weeks in a row," OSU coach Mike Gundy said.

The OSU coaches will hit the recruiting trail Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Coming back: The Cowboys are 2-3 in games following an open date in Gundy's four-year tenure. Earlier this fall, OSU came off an open date to defeat Troy.

Home and away: OSU is not only seeking its 10th victory entering next week's Bedlam game, it's also seeking to complete a perfect record at Boone Pickens Stadium.

The Cowboys are 6-0 in home games this season. OSU's last perfect home record was 1984, also 6-0.

OSU finished with a 3-2 record on the road this season. It marked the fourth time since the inception of the Big 12 Conference the Cowboys had a winning road record.
