Thomas honored: Former Oklahoma State All-American Thurman Thomas is expected to attend the Nov. 29 Bedlam game in Stillwater. During halftime of the OU-OSU showdown, he will be honored for having been elected into the College Football Hall of Fame.

The induction ceremony is set for Dec. 9 in New York. The 13-member class also includes Troy Aikman, who began his college career at Oklahoma before transferring to UCLA and playing two seasons for the Bruins.

Bowl scouts: Scouts from the Holiday Bowl and Alamo Bowl have confirmed that they will attend the Bedlam game.

Cowboy schedule: The 11th-ranked Cowboys (9-2 overall, 5-2 Big 12) are off this week. They practiced on Tuesday and Wednesday. They were off on Thursday and will not practice again until Monday.

On Sunday night, OSU players and coaches are involved in a turkey distribution program at Gallagher-Iba Arena. The turkeys will be given to low-income families.

Odds and ends: Having prevailed at Colorado last week, the Cowboys have recorded 58 victories in this decade. This would qualify as the second-most successful decade in Oklahoma State football history. During the '80s, the Cowboys had a total of 71 wins. OSU already has 17 more victories in this decade than it totaled during the '90s.

Over their last 18 games, the Cowboys have a record of 13-5. In each of the five defeats, the opponent was ranked in the Associated Press Top 25. OSU lost last season to Texas (then ranked No. 14), Kansas (No. 5) and Oklahoma (No. 10), and this season to Texas (No. 1) and Texas Tech (No. 2).
