STILLWATER — It was only a matter of time until Oklahoma State set 3-point records under new coach Travis Ford, who prefers an uptempo, bombs-away style. A matter of time arrived.

OSU launched a school-record 39 3-pointers and tied a school record by making 15 in a 91-60 victory Sunday over Grambling State at Gallagher-Iba Arena.

Ford said there were a lot of numbers on the stat sheet he didn't like. But, in regard to the 3-point records, Ford said, "On any given night, we can easily take that many. It's not a big deal for us."

Terrel Harris and James Anderson combined for 45 points and nine made shots from 3-point range. Harris was unaware that the record book got assaulted, perhaps because the new normal seems "almost natural."

"We don't even think about the 3-pointers we shoot, really," Harris said. "I guess that's why we shoot so many."

If the perimeter milestones didn't qualify as a surprise, this did: It is now fair to refer to 6-foot-5 junior guard Obi Muonelo as a rebounding machine.

Muonelo collected 10 points and 10 rebounds (all in the first 28 minutes) for his first career double-double.

He leads the 4-0 Cowboys with a 9.0 rebounding average.

"It just shows you how versatile he is," Harris said. "I have always said he's just a playmaker. Whatever you need to do, he is going to do it. I think this is good for him to show his own self that he can do it. He is big on stuff like that, just being able to psych himself out and tell himself to do whatever. Now he's dedicated to getting rebounds. He told me on the court he wanted to get 15."

Ford said he was just glad to win and said he did not sleep the night before the game.

Why? The Cowboys were playing a fourth game in 10 days, so they took a mandatory day off Friday and Ford said first practices after a day off are never good. Plus, Byron Eaton had to miss practice Saturday, when the Pokes worked out in the practice gym because the arena was occupied.

OSU led by only 11 with 19:30 left, but there was no reason for Ford to lose sleep.

The Cowboys outscored the Tigers 32-6 to start the second half.

The only suspense was whether the Cowboys would eclipse 3-point records.

Muonelo made the team's 14th 3-pointer with 12:03 left and the record-tying 3-pointer didn't come until Anderson converted with 2:58 left.

Man, I swear Randy Rutherford hit that many by himself that one day in Lawrence... :)
