Award line: Oklahoma State senior tight end Brandon Pettigrew, sophomore wide receiver Dez Bryant and senior punter Matt Fodge were named finalists Monday for awards honoring the top player at their respective positions in college football. The award winners will be announced at the Home Depot ESPNU College Football Awards show Dec. 11 in Orlando, Fla.

Pettigrew is one of three finalists for the John Mackey Award, honoring the top tight end. Despite missing three games with an ankle injury, Pettigrew has 35 catches for 383 yards this season.

It's also an All-Big 12 affair for the Biletnikoff Award, given to the top wide receiver. Bryant leads the Big 12 and ranks fourth nationally with 111.1 yards receiving per game. The sophomore has 68 catches for 1,222 yards and 16 touchdowns.

Fodge is up for the Ray Guy Award, handed out to the top punter. Fodge ranks second in the Big 12 with a 44.4-yard punting average, but does not qualify among the national leaders because he has not had enough attempts this season.

Despite leading the Big 12 in rushing yardage with 1,434, OSU sophomore running back Kendall Hunter was not named one of the three finalists for the Doak Walker Award, given to college football's top running back. The three finalists for that honor are Iowa's Shonn Greene, Georgia's Knowshon Moreno and Michigan State's Javon Ringer.

Hunter's status: Hunter practiced Monday and is expected to be 100 percent healthy for Saturday night's Bedlam game against Oklahoma.

The sophomore running back sat out the last quarter-plus of the Nov. 15 victory at Colorado with an undisclosed leg injury. Hunter said he would have been able to play if OSU had a game last Saturday. But the open date allowed him to get recharged and prepare for OU.

"I'm ready to do whatever to help my team out," Hunter said.

Robinson, the spectator: OSU quarterback Zac Robinson spent his free Saturday from football watching football. Robinson went to Norman to watch OU's victory over Texas Tech.

"Obviously, they played very well and it was a big atmosphere," Robinson said.

The OSU quarterback, though, was not able to fully blend into the crimson-and-cream atmosphere. More than a few Sooner fans recognized Robinson.

"They were overly nice," he said.
