TV benefits: Oklahoma State's Oct. 11 game at Missouri was televised by ESPN2, and each of the Cowboys' final five regular-season games (against Texas, Iowa State, Texas Tech, Colorado and Oklahoma) was televised by ABC. The Missouri, Texas Tech, Colorado and OU contests were night games — presented to prime-time audiences.

Television exposure should have a positive effect on recruiting, Cowboy associate head coach Joe DeForest said on Sunday. DeForest filled in for coach Mike Gundy on OSU's Sunday teleconference with reporters. Gundy was out of state on a recruiting trip. This week, DeForest will recruit in Houston and San Antonio.

"Now that we're recruiting in Mississippi, Louisiana and Georgia, you get more widespread recognition," said DeForest, referring to televised games. "(The Boone Pickens Stadium renovation) definitely attracted different players to our program."

New Mexico report: Rivals.com has reported that DeForest and OSU running backs coach Curtis Luper are among candidates for the head-coaching position at New Mexico. Luper is a former Lobo assistant.

When asked whether he had been contacted by New Mexico, DeForest replied, "I really don't need to comment on that right now. At this point, I'd like to defer to (Gundy)."

Numbers update: With one game remaining (probably the Holiday Bowl or Alamo Bowl), Cowboy quarterback Zac Robinson is on pace to record the No. 2 single-season passing performance in school history. Robinson has passed for 2,735 yards, with 24 touchdowns against eight interceptions.

Josh Fields (2002) has the school record with 3,145 yards. Robinson holds the No. 2 spot, having thrown for 2,824 yards last season. He needs 90 more yards this season to surpass his 2007 total. He would need a bowl-game performance of 411 yards to break Fields' record.

Dez Bryant has 1,313 receiving yards. That total stands No. 3 on the OSU's single-season records chart. Rashaun Woods had 1,695 yards in 2002 and 1,367 in 2003.

Bryant scored twice against OU. With 18 receiving TDs, he broke Woods' 2002 school record of 17.

Kendall Hunter has 1,518 rushing yards. He is the seventh Cowboy to reach the 1,500 mark and the first since David Thompson in 1996.
