LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Chastity Reed scored 18 points to lead Arkansas-Little Rock to a 65-51 victory over No. 19 Oklahoma State on Saturday night in Jack Stephens Center.

It was the school's first win over a ranked team.

Shaunté Smith and Andrea Riley led the Cowgirls (3-2) with 15 points each. Smith also grabbed nine rebounds and Riley added six rebounds and four assists.

Playing their first contest since Nov. 26, the Cowgirls got off to a slow start offensively in the first half, scoring just 23 points. OSU was plagued by nine turnovers in the half and trailed for the first time this season.

The Trojans (6-1) took over the game in the final five minutes of the first half.

After Oklahoma State took a 21-20 lead on Riley's layup at the 5:17 mark, the Cowgirls scored just one more time in the half and fell behind 28-23.

The Trojans shot 46 percent in the first 20 minutes en route to their five-point lead.

UALR continued its sharp shooting in the second half and pushed the lead to 12 after scoring the first seven points of the second half and built the lead to as many as 15.

Anshel Cooper and Kim Sitzmann scored 13 each for UALR.

The Cowgirls rallied with a 9-4 run to cut the margin to 48-40, but could get no closer.

Reed scored 12 of her points in the second half.

The Cowgirls return to action on Dec. 14, hosting TCU at 2 p.m. at Gallagher-Iba Arena.
