LAS VEGAS — Oklahoma State's women's basketball team improved its winning streak to four games Saturday with an 88-73 win over UNLV in the championship game at the Desert Draw inside Cox Pavilion in Las Vegas.

OSU (7-2) trailed for most of the first half and faced a double-digit deficit on three occasions before closing the half with a 14-5 run that was sparked by senior Shyvon Spears.

The Cowgirls never trailed again and took their first double-figure lead with 13 minutes remaining in the game.

Five Cowgirls scored in double figures. As a team, OSU shot 52 percent from the floor.

During OSU's run to end the half, Spears scored four points and pulled down four rebounds to push OSU in front 47-46 at the break.

Spears surpassed her career-high point total in the first half with 11 points and added nine rebounds en route to her first career double-double. She finished the night with 13 points and a game-high 13 rebounds.

Junior Andrea Riley once again paced the offense, finishing with 22 points, 10 assists and six rebounds. She also earned tournament MVP honors.

Senior Taylor Hardeman drained 4-of-5 3-pointers, to finish with a season-high 16 points.

She also had three assists and three steals on the night.

Sophomore Kristin Hernandez was solid once again off the bench for the Cowgirls, scoring 12 points and grabbing three steals, while senior Shaunte' Smith produced a big second half to help OSU take command of the game.

Smith scored all 11 of her points and had four of her seven rebounds in the final period.

Jamie Smith led all scorers with 27 points for UNLV (5-5).
