Check out our complete bowl guide for OU, OSU and TU, including what fans can do if they’re going to the bowls in Miami, San Diego and Mobile, as well as a list of stories from before the bowl games.

Memorable lunch: On Sunday, members of the Oklahoma State and Oregon football programs spent more than two hours at the San Diego Naval Base.

Following a banquet aboard the USS Bonhomme Richard, a 40,500-ton assault vessel that measures nearly three football fields in length, the players were taken on a tour of the ship.

During the luncheon, Cowboy coach Mike Gundy told the audience of about 1,500 that OSU's honorary captain on Tuesday — when the Cowboys face Oregon in the Holiday Bowl — will be Seaman Marcus Stanley of Athens, Ala.

The ship's commanding officer, Capt. Neil Parrott, presented to OSU President Burns Hargis a USS Bonhomme Richard ballcap and a framed portrait of the ship.

Presented with the Admiral U.S. Grant Sharp Trophy was longtime OSU administrative assistant Sandra Swank, who seemed stunned.

The award, which recognizes "unselfish commitment, motivation and teamwork that result in little acclaim," is presented annually to a member of a Holiday Bowl football program.

At one point during the program, the emcee mistakenly referred to OSU as "Oregon State University."

Repeat performance: In 2007 (with Dantrell Savage and Adarius Bowman), OSU had both a 1,000-yard rusher and a 1,000-yard receiver.

It happened again this season with running back Kendall Hunter and wide receiver Dez Bryant.

Before the 2007 season, such a statistical feat had occurred only three times in school history — in 2003 and 2002 (Tatum Bell and Rashaun Woods) and in 1988 (Barry Sanders and Hart Lee Dykes).
