STILLWATER — No. 21 Oklahoma State dispatched Texas-Pan American in quick fashion Saturday 85-36 to extend its winning streak to seven.

Tegan Cunningham was one of five Cowgirls to score in double digits, finishing with a team-high 17 points. Joining her were Shaunte' Smith and Andrea Riley with 12 apiece, Taylor Hardeman with 11 and Megan Byford with 10.

A crowd of 3,250, many of whom came early to watch the men's team defeat Northwestern (La.) State, watched as OSU (10-2) built a 44-22 halftime lead. Nothing dramatic, just short bursts that allowed the Cowgirls to take command.

"Today was what I hoped it would be, a clean effort," said OSU coach Kurt Budke. "We did a good job of taking care of the ball, that's something we've stressed. I'll take a 2-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio any day. When you think back and can almost remember each turnover, it's a really good night."

OSU finished with 22 assists to just nine turnovers. It also recorded 16 steals and 25 Texas Pan-Am turnovers.

Riley's 12 points were a season low for the junior point guard. She was just 2-of-10 from the field but made all seven of her free throw attempts.

She also finished with five assists to move into the fourth spot on OSU's career assist list with 382.

Her lack of scoring does not concern Budke.

"She's distributing the ball," the coach said. "She's looking to get her teammates involved in the offense. We're only going to be successful in Big 12 (Conference) if we have four or five players scoring. Her offense will come back up in the Big 12."

Added Smith, "We don't need Andrea to score 50 points every game, although that would be nice."

OSU's bench provided 29 points, 10 from Megan Byford and six each from Kelsey Hatcher and Kristin Hernandez.

"They came in and gave us a spark," Hardeman said. "We need our new people to get experience. They won't understand what the Big 12 is until they play in it. But getting experience now is important for down the road."

OSU set a single-game record with 14 3-pointers, eclipsing the previous high of 13 set against Prairie View on Dec. 29, 2005.

Epiphany Smith scored 15 to lead the Lady Broncs (8-8). Only five players scored for UTPA. Aleeya Grigsby, Teshay Winfrey and Rose Esther Jean added six points each and Brittany Demery scored three points.
