COVER BOY
Sam Bradford:
Sooner quarterback will appear on the cover of the December issue of "Sharing the Victory," the official magazine of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

History 101:
Looking back, maybe it should have been easier to see Oklahoma's big victory over Texas Tech. OK, not 65-21 easier, but consider:
In his 10th season at OU, coach Bob Stoops has never lost a home game following an open date. In fact, Stoops' teams are 13-1 after a week off, with the only defeat coming at the Cotton Bowl in 2006, 28-10 to Texas. Every one of the other 13 were played at Owen Field, and the average score — Oklahoma 40, Anyone Else 13 — was a good indicator for a blowout of Tech.
History 102:
Also consider that Stoops has never really lost straight up to any of his former assistants. Officially, his record is 7-2 against Tech's Mike Leach, 3-0 against Kansas' Mark Mangino and 1-0 against Nebraska's Bo Pelini.
But the 2005 loss at Tech goes more to incompetent officiating — the Red Raiders don't survive if not for two blown replays on Tech's game-winning drive — and the 2007 loss at Tech probably would have never materialized if quarterback Sam Bradford hadn't been knocked loopy on OU's first offensive snap.
Smart guys:
Bradford and running back DeMarco Murray were named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American team on Wednesday. Bradford carries a 3.95 GPA in finance, while Murray has a 3.31 in communications. Both were named to the second team.
Also, OU had a 13th player named to the Big 12 Conference All-Academic team in Kyle Johnson, a senior from Konawa.
Tight coverage:
Two days after he was named one of three finalists for the John Mackey Award, OU tight end Jermaine Gresham earned the award's weekly honor. Gresham caught five passes for 91 yards in OU's victory over Texas Tech. It's Gresham's second weekly Mackey honor of the season. The Nassau County (Fla.) Sports Commission picks the weekly award and says it doesn't have a bearing on the final selection process for the annual Mackey Award.
Cover boys:
Bradford was on the cover of this week's "Sports Illustrated" — something Sooner fans may or may not be happy about, depending on whether or not they believe in a supposed "SI Jinx." Maybe that voodoo will be balanced out by Bradford's appearance on the cover of the December issue of "Sharing the Victory," the official magazine of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
The issue also features a Q&A with defensive tackle Gerald McCoy.
