Three Questions

Three questions about OU football heading into the spring:

What will the Sooners do at wide receiver?

It's expected sophomore Ryan Broyles will move from the slot to an outside position. Mossis Madu will spend this spring experimenting more as a slot receiver, which means less time at RB. The key is finally getting consistency from senior Adron Tennell and junior Brandon Caleb, or the maturation of Dejuan Miller and Jameel Owens. JC transfer Cameron Kenney should play in the fall, but he's not here this spring, so coaches must find replacements now.

Who are the top candidates at offensive line?

Trent Williams shifts to LT and Brian Simmons will start at RG. The rest is a mystery. Cory Brandon has the most experience for RT, but LSU transfer Jarvis Jones might emerge as the best option. Stephen Good could be in line to start at LG, but Alex Williams is a possibility, too. The big question is at C, where Jon Cooper was like a coach. Jason Hannan might have the early lead, but Ben Habern could be the solution.

Is there a plan in place at safety?

Not yet. It's likely that Quinton Carter, who worked a lot as a backup last season, will retain one spot, while the other — essentially the strong safety position — could come down to Joseph Ibiloye and Sam Proctor. Proctor spent some of last spring and training camp as the starter and still needs to get faster. Ibiloye is a big hitter. Desmond Jackson will also be in the mix.
