Collinsville wide receiver Dalton Rasmussen turned in the top performance of his football career in the All-State Game on Friday night.

"It was my best game ever and it came at the right time, too," Rasmussen said.

Rasmussen had 11 catches for 163 yards and a touchdown. He also caught a key fourth-down pass to set up Eufaula quarterback Ethan Sharp's 9-yard TD run with 13 seconds left that rallied the East past the West 23-22 before a crowd of 7,000 at Union-Tuttle Stadium.

"This is just awesome," said Rasmussen, who will play this season for Northeastern A&M. "It was a very emotional game. I wouldn't have wanted to play with anyone else besides these guys. Everyone was real close. They were awesome."

With the West leading 22-17, Rasmussen's 19-yard reception over-the-middle on fourth-and-10 gave the East a first down at the West 9 with 30 seconds left. Three plays later, Sharp scored on a quarterback draw.

"On the fourth-down play, I was just hoping I could bring it down, I had to stretch out a bit for it," Rasmussen said.

Broken Bow defensive back Mitchell Manning's interception of a Hail Mary pass near the East goal line ended the game.

Rasmussen, who had 26 receptions in his senior season, was a bit surprised to hear he had 11 catches.

"I just played the game, I wasn't keeping track of anything," Rasmussen said.

Rasmussen's TD catch came on a 10-yard pass from Cascia Hall's Sam Clancy in the third quarter. It came on a fade route that Clancy threw for many of his 48 TD passes during his Cascia Hall career.

Clancy, playing the first and third quarters, completed 14-of-21 passes for 186 yards.

"Our wide receivers came through and played great," Clancy said. "Dalton played a tremendous game and Ethan was great."

The East's rally enabled Clancy to finish with an undefeated record as a high school starting quarterback after leading Cascia to back-to-back perfect records and state titles. It also was his final football game ever. He will attend the University of Oklahoma as a student only to prepare for a medical career.

"This game was a blast," Clancy said. "For my last game to ever play, I couldn't have asked for it to end in any better way."

Sharp completed 12-of-28 passes for 179 yards. His 42-yard TD pass to Sallisaw's David Hadley gave the East a 17-14 lead with 3:36 remaining.

The West countered with an 8-yard TD pass from Mustang's Kyle Webster to Oklahoma City Douglass' Destin Stewart with 1:59 left. Kansas State signee Timothy Flanders of Midwest City then tossed a halfback pass to future K-State teammate Zach Trujillo of Edmond Deer Creek for the 2-point conversion. Earlier, Flanders scored on a 1-yard run and 69-yard pass.

The wild finish followed a first half that ended with the East leading 3-0 on a 43-yard field goal by Cascia Hall's Pete Testa.

It continued to be a defensive struggle until Clancy connected on a 38-yard pass to Rasmussen early in the third quarter. Later in the period, Clancy's 69-yard pass to Beggs' Krispin Crawford set up Rasmussen's TD that made it 10-7.

No surprise. He was one of the best receivers in the state. He just didn't have a good quarterback. That's the only thing Collinsville lacked last year.

Okay first of all I would like to thank you for the complement. It means a lot. But I would appreciate it if you didn't dog on my quarterback. Secondly, I thought Collinsville had a very complete team last year and that includes our offensive leader who threw for over 1500 yards. He was dang good for being 5'8" lol
