JENKS — Top-ranked Jenks looked to be in playoff form Friday, rolling up 585 total yards in a 58-15 blowout of Muskogee at Hunter-Dwelley Field.

Zack Langer and Cory Jones each rushed for 117 yards and two touchdowns to lead a ground game that gained 347 yards.

Sawyer Kollmorgen was 10-of-16 passing for 238 yards and three touchdowns all in the first half.

Kollmorgen connected with junior wide receiver Jacob Bertelli for two TDs and Brandon Kitchens for one.

"The boys executed well," Jenks interim coach Loren Montgomery said. "We got some things cleaned up this week and we really played well. It was great to get Cory back. He's a change of pace from Zack.

"Cory has game-breaking speed and Zack is a big bruiser. Both did an excellent job. Even Brandon Williams ran well at the end."

The Trojans scored on six of seven first-half possessions to cruise to a 42-8 halftime lead.

Kollmorgen connected with easy passes over the middle to Kitchens for 21 yards and a score and then to Bertelli for a 31-yard TD strike for a 14-0 lead less than nine minutes into the game.

Kollmorgen and Bertelli connected again for a 33-yard score followed by a 45-yard run up the middle by Langer to push the lead to 28-0.

"The coaches are doing a great job every week of putting together a game plan," Kollmorgen said. "The O-line comes out every week and does a good job.

"Our receivers did a good job of getting away from their defenders. It's good to have Cory back."

Muskogee got on the board late in the half on a 40-yard catch and run by Brandon Bogar from Mitch Stevenson.

Langer and Jones scored on 2-yard runs on back-to-back possessions for the Trojans (9-0 overall, 6-0) before halftime.

Jones added another touchdown on a 69-yard scamper.

"It's feels good to get back into the rotation," Jones said. "With Zack's inside running and me on the outside, I think we're going to be tough to stop in the playoffs."

The Roughers (2-6, 2-4) showed big-play potential as Stevenson — who was 13-of-28 for 297 yards — completed passes of 40, 58 and 71 yards.JENKS 58, MUSKOGEE 15

Congratulations kids and coaches. Everyone is proud of all of you.
With your talent, skill and attitude there isn’t any doubt you will bring the championship home to Jenks!
“Jenks Trojans, enough said!”

I have no doubt that Jenks will win again, and I will be one of the first to congratulate the team. But for most high school football fans that still want to believe in fair play, this "gold ball" will be a little tarnished because of the many adults that were/are obsessed with only one thing. Very sad cloud over the JHS athletic program.
