OWASSO — Quarterback Joe Lindsey scored on Owasso's only offensive play of overtime — a 10-yard run — lifting the eighth-ranked Rams past the Yukon Millers 29-26 in District 6A-4 action on Friday night at Owasso Stadium.

The Rams (6-3, 5-1) secured the runner-up spot in the district with the victory. Owasso hosts Stillwater in the regular season finale and will be at home again in the first round of the playoffs the following week.

The Millers (4-5, 3-3) still have a shot to make the postseason. They will likely have to beat Choctaw next week to have any realistic chance.

Yukon had the ball first in overtime. Kristopher Godwin made a 29-yard field goal, his fourth of the game, to give the Millers a 26-23 lead.

Godwin tied the game with 14 seconds left in regulation with a 40-yard field goal.

Owasso scored first, less than two minutes into the game, on a safety after a bad snap sailed over the Yukon punter and out of the back of the end zone.

Lindsey's 2-yard keeper on the final play of the first quarter put the Rams ahead 9-0.

The Millers closed to within 9-7 after a 27-yard scoring pass from Corben Jones to Jordan Edwards at the 2:59 mark of the second period.

That score came five plays after Yukon recovered a punt that hit an Owasso player at the Miller 38-yard line.

Jake Henderson recovered another Ram fumble just 45 seconds later at the Owasso 43.

The Rams, however, forced an incomplete pass on a fourth-down play with 50 seconds remaining in the first half.

The final play of the first half was a huge one for the Rams. Wide receiver Nick DiMarco scored on a 29-yard end around to give Owasso a 16-7 lead.

DiMarco raced down the right sideline, got a couple of key blocks, cut to his left to elude a pair of would-be Yukon tacklers, and wound up in the end zone, setting off a huge roar from the Ram faithful.

Godwin made a 30-yard field goal to cut the Miller deficit to 16-10 with 3:36 left in the third quarter.

Godwin was good again on another field goal try, this one from 43 yards out, to get Yukon within 16-13 at the 8:01 mark of the final stanza.

Things looked good for the Rams after Aaron Colvin's 41-yard end around put them ahead 23-13 with 4:03 remaining in regulation.

The Millers closed within 23-20 just 58 seconds later after a 67-yard touchdown pass from Jones to Jake Doyle. Yukon then recovered the ensuing onside kick that led to Godwin's tying field goal.
